1.1 Discuss challenges related to managing performance and compensating employees from other countries.
Give some incidents and examples
Managing and compensating performances of employees from other countries is difficult enough for the management team of any organization. The present study is going to elaborate on a few challenges in this regard.
Managing cross border employees is difficult due to communication differences. The linguistic barriers are considered as the biggest problem for the managers when they have to evaluate the performances of the employees from different countries. For instance, a manager of an American based organization must face difficulties when he has to communicate with his employees from Japan or South Korea as they have entirely different communication processes.
Cultural barriers are also considered as an essential barrier for the managers who need to compensate the employee’s performances from different regions. For instance, Indian employees have various cultural aspects and beliefs towards their work which may vary with the managers from other countries.
Employees from different countries may have different religious viewpoints which must be counted into account by the managers. For example, employees from any Arabian countries prefer their prayers and chanting namaz five times a day. A manager from a different religion must understand their beliefs to coordinate with them.
