What is Optimism?
when a person is confident and hopeful about success in the future is called optimism. This is a tendency that can have both positive as well as negative impacts on the work Life. Being more optimistic and being less optimistic both have disadvantages. So let's Talk about both Advantages and Disadvantages.

Advantages-
1-The Optimistic person knows his strength and his capabilities by which he can easily identify which type of work will be good for him and which type of work he can complete in a better manner than others.
2-The Optimistic person is calmer in behavior because of his confidence in himself so he will indulge in a healthier way than the other who is not confident in his work this enables an employee to think more positively and when the mind is calm the results may be his side.
3-The optimistic person may also get some problems in the work there may be some challenges in the work so being optimist an employee can figure out the problems and work on those more easily than the other because as stated in the above point he is confident in his capabilities which makes him calm which allows an employee to think about the problems and the probable solutions in a more calm way than the other.

Disadvantages-
1-The biggest disadvantage of being optimistic is that the employee thinks he can do anything on time and because of this attitude sometimes it may happen that the things don't fall as same as the way he has planned so he might miss the deadlines so being over-optimistic can sometimes lead to over-confidence as well.
2-The more the optimistic employee the more chances of decrease in the productivity as because he believes in himself so the person might think that the work can be done easily and he tries to find out some shortcuts to do the work because of his confidence he may face hardships some times as well because of his decrease in productivity
3- More optimistic employee can sometimes leave things undone because of its confidence and the self-motivation allows him to take shortcuts which can lead to uncompleted work.

So based upon the stated points one can understand what all positive impact, as well as the negative impact an employee, can get when a person is optimistic because as we can clearly understand that there is a very thin line in being optimistic and being over-optimistic.

The stem diameter of wheat is important because easy breakage of the wheat can interfere with harvesting the crop. The diameter of wheat is known to be normally distributed with a mean of 1.9 mm. An agronomist hypothesizes that the new fertilizer being used is increasing plant stem diameter. After 5 days from the flowering of the wheat, the agronomist measures the diameters (mm) of the plants. What can the agronomist conclude with an α of 0.01? The wheat diameters...

This is a tough chapter - not because the concepts are that hard, but only because there are so many different decisions and the format utilized to make the decision is different for each. My question is, the book goes over a lot of different potential decisions, the common factors involved and the ways to determine the correct decision from an economic standpoint. Are there non-quantitative factors to consider? Like what?

Some problems that economists try to solve are easy as economic problems but hard as political problems. Medical doctors face similar kinds of situations: Preventing most deaths from obesity or lung cancer is easy as a medical problem (eat less, exercise more, don’t smoke), but hard as a self-control problem. With this in mind, how is ending hyperinflation like losing 100 pounds? A. We lack understanding of the cause of the problem. B. Both are always good things to do....

In studying the life history of an organism, we often discuss the concept of trade-offs because organisms are limited in the energy they can allocate to different functions. We covered trade-offs in both plants and animals. Give two examples of trade-offs (one in plants and one in animals). Describe the tradeoff you name and include a line-graph to show (graphically) what this trade-off would looks like.

Point Organizations should do everything they can to establish a positive culture, because it works. Scores of recent studies have shown that individuals who are in positive states of mind at work and in life lead happier, more productive, and more fulfilling lives. Given the accumulating evidence, researchers are now studying ways to make that happen. In a recent Harvard Business Review article, Wharton faculty member Adam Grant discusses an interesting concept: outsourcing inspiration. What does he mean by that?...
