Companies have to update their strategy on a regular basis but sometimes need to look at radical change, briefly explain these two types of Strategic Change and how they might affect company organization. Define incremental and transformational change.
Strategy is a plan focused on long term goals, to achieve competitive advantage over rivals. It is formulated and implemented with various policies, programs and procedures, by making the employees execute it in a right way for achieving the goals and to strengthen competitive advantage. Strategy implementation can be In two forms of change, incremental (evolutionary) and transformational (revolutionary).
Incremental changes are the small routine changes or improvements in Processes, behaviour and policies of the organisation, that affects the firm and the members of its behaviour, with regular efforts to reach a desired position in future. These changes don't have any greater or immediate impact on the Operations and work patterns, but it does bring improvements little by little, and make a flow of work style.
Transformational change are the revolutionary change, that are used to strategize the functions, to change structural designs, goals, and entire work process radically. This strategic change brings lot many transformations in the organisation and must be managed carefully with a strong management. Revolutionary change have huge impact on operations, employees and their behaviour. It may bring resistance, Chaos and confusion if not managed appropriately.
