• 9.Contemporary books create interesting results through blending genres. The nonhuman characters are a unique mix of anthropomorphized animals and shape shifters; their actions reveal their “human” qualities both good and evil

In years past, topics related to space travel and colonization could be highly speculative, but technological advances have made good science fiction that suspends our disbelief quite difficult for writers and readers. Science fiction’s original focus was on plot and action. However, as science fiction gains popularity with younger readers, it now emphasizes character in addition to plot.
• 11.The difference between defining a character and illuminating it, is the purpose of the character. A defining character is based on the moments that happen within the story. On the other hand, an illuminating character brings understanding to the story, give the reader more knowledge, and makes the story clear for the reader.
