Expert Solution

40-year-old adult female pelvic examination

The test is called as Pap Test (Pap smear).

  1. lie down with legs wide spreaded
  2. doctor will insert a speculum into the female genitals
  3. open it to spread the vaginal walls and see cervix
  4. Doctor will use swab to collect cells from cervix
  5. cells are then sent to a lab for review

Negative test is good as it signifies normal cells in cervix while a positive test means the patient has Cancer. The cell shape changes popularly called as Dysplasia

50-year –old adult male genitalia exam

  1. doctor examines the genitals, checks the testicles for symmetry (if they are of same size and shape)
  2. checks the genitals for any odd discharge
  3. next doctor touches the cord connecting the testicles and body to check if they are of proper shape and size.
  4. he might also do rectal examination in which he inserts his finger inside the genitals to check if the tissues are normal
  5. The doctor may also examine the prostate gland for any bumps or overall enlargement.

The doctor might tell the result immediately after the examination. If any abnormal tissues or cells found then it is sent for examination.
