Explain the concept of ethical visuals. What guidelines should a market researcher consider when preparing ethical visuals? What are the consequences of not considering ethical visuals?
Concept of ethical visuals: Visual information plays an important role in affecting the receiver’s perceptions. Consequently, examining the ethical implications of techniques for presenting visual information is warranted. Not all culture takes an advertisement in the same way so based on the culture and values the visuals have to be developed to be ethical in the marketing. Further, not all are open to being photographed except permission which has to be considered in ethics to let people know that they are been filmed.
Guidelines for the market researcher consideration when preparing ethical visuals:
· The recording technologies are rampant so the ethics of not intruding into the privacy of the people is important,
· Anonymity and integrity of protecting the guidelines have been made to make the ethical aspect of doing business clear and objective which don’t bother other’s privacy.
The consequences of not considering ethical visuals
· Too much information can be collected where the difference between the relevant and irrelevant has to be made else the data would be of no use.
· The ethical breach of the people would make the business suffer from the legal processes which are not desirable for the business.
· The acceptability of the people for private dignity is put in question with such visuals and thus what is captured and shown is to be determined ethically.
