1) What is the difference between TCP and UDP? Why would you use one over the other?
a) TCP (Transmission control protocol) works at both ends of the most Internet communication to ensure a perfect copy of a message is sent.
b) UDP (user datagram protocol) protocol that operates instead of TCP in applications where delivery speed is important, and quality can be sacrificed.
c) You would use TCP when the connection needs to reliable but can be compromised on speed. If you need speed and not the best quality message, then you would use UDP.
2) Why have other nations enjoyed faster broadband speeds, greater availability, and lower prices?
a) They have faster broadband speeds because they have higher infrastructure. They also have to maintain DSL (digital subscriber line) coming from one of the Internet Digital Technology. This provides high speed broadband, greater availability all at a lower price.
3) What advantages could broadband offer to underserved areas of the world? Is Internet access important for economic development? Why or why not?
a) Broadband offers a number of advantages to underserved areas of the world. Many offerhigh speed internet access for free. In Philadelphia they have a municipal broadband network offers free access.
b) I believe that internet access is very important for economic development because it creates competition, lower prices, and help keep prices down.
