HISTORY

Basically Blue Apron is an American based online food retailer and recipe food service company.

It was founded in 2012 by Matt Salzberg, Ilia Papas and Matt Wadiak. They first tried some of the ideas of startups before making of this company where they gave people an easy way to make dinner using trusted, chef recommended recipes that are precisely measured out.

They first offer a few recipes for their subscribers each week. They create a good relationships with the local farmers and create menus that are based on the seasonality and what ingredients were in stock. The recipes and perfectly portioned ingredients are then packaged and delivered to their customers within 24 hours so they could make and eat a fresh meal for the dinner. In August 2012, they began boxing and shipping the first Blue Apron recipes to their testers who could order one of three meals that is fish, poultry or beef and pork. They hired courier facility to deliver their first few orders across Manhattan.

INITIAL AND ONGOING FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

In the initial stages Blue Apron raised its first capital of $3 million from Salzberg's former firm Bessemer Venture Partners. They establish a good relationships with local suppliers that icludes Farmers, Ranchers, Pasta makers. In 2014 they announced that they are presently shipping over 1 million meals per month. After that they gain Unicorn status in New York by announcing their largest funding yet i.e., $1325 million at a $2 billion valuation. In Jun 2017, they had its initial public offerng of $30 miilion shares of class A common stock priced at $10 per share.

After that Wall Street has cut their stock price in half by Oct 17. On Nov 17 they announced that Brad Dickerson will be the CEO of the company and Salzberg will remain the chairman of the company. In April 18 the lost 81.4%of its market value, since its first public offering. Currently LInda Findley Kozlowski is the CEO of the company.

As of Dec 2019, the Quaterly Financials of the Comapny is $94.32 million as a Revenue Generation, the Net Income is decrease of $-21.86 million and the diluted EPS is decreased to -1.66. The Net Profit Margin is -23.18% and the Operating Income is $-17.56 million as well as Net Change in Cash $-41.12 million. Cash on Hand is $43.53 million and Cost of Revenue is $57.56 million.
