Everyone knows about the famous Olympian Michael Phelps. He is considered as the most decorated Olympian. When he was in school, then he was diagnosed with ADHD. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
He was 9 years old at that time. ADHD is a condition in which a person shows above normal levels of hyperactivity. Impulsive behaviour also becomes a characteristic feature of such people. This disease can take place in both adults and children.
Providing attention in such disease becomes a tedious task. Person also finds difficulties in providing attention to a single task. Time management skills also becomes poor. Multitasking also becomes harder. Michael Phelps was finding difficulties in school.
He used to swim for hours and hours after the school. Phelps told in one of his interview that swimming gave him a sensation that his mind is getting slower and calm. He found his comfort zone. He found his body in his full control and this was happening to him just because of swimming. He started enjoying swimming which ultimately fetched him multiple gold medals at multiple Olympic events.
