Solutions

Expert Solution

Symbolic interaction theory is of great importance in sociology. This says how people behave as per their symbols and associate meanings to them. These days people often rely on symbols. Symbols are very easy to understand and some symbols are body language is very easy to understand and easy to communicate. For e.g smiling, laughing indicates friendly or jolly behaviour.

Today due to social networking or whatssapp the symbols of thumbs up has become very popular or even thumbs down. So when things go well they would show thumbs up and if they do not then thumbs down. This often happens while crossing road, or in traffic when somebody allows to pass the vehicle then by showing thumbs up it also means thanks. Or even thumbs down denote that quality was not good. Clapping would denote that something great has been done.

Some symbols or gestures from country to country. For eg thumbs up is also considered very offensive in islamic culture, in Australian culture it is considered as OK but if then up and down then it is again considered as insult.
