Interview a middle-aged adult, using the following
questions:
Tell me about a high point in your life.
Tell me about a low point in your life.
Tell me about a turning point in your life.
What are some important events that occurred in your
childhood, adolescence, and adulthood?
In one paragraph summarize the responses from the
interview.
In the second paragraph compare the responses to
research in the text and discuss the following questions:
Were life experiences generally positive or
negative?
Was there evidence of a commitment story? If so,
describe.
When did the turning point occur?
Is this consistent with the midlife
transition?
Based on the answers, would you describe this person
as generative? Why or why not?
The high point of life is to get a job what I like most.
Low point of my life is that there was a time when I lost my love due to my unemployment.
The break up in love was the turning point in my life.
In childhood days I attended school and I had many friends. But for the change of schools there was also the change of the friend circle. I lost my grandfather when I was 9 years old and it greatly shocked me. In my adolescent period I was once involved in the habit of smoking. My parents noticed the fact and took me to the psychiatrist. By counselling I was able to quit smoking. In my adult period there are many important facts like my break up in love, getting a good job, marriage and settlement, giving birth of a child and so on.
In one's life all the experiences can never be positive. There are many negative experiences and we have to face both.
Turning points occurred at the age of 22 years.
It is not consistent in the midlife transition as he is settled now. There is no effect of transition now in his life.
He is generative and he has now a child and he lives with happy family.
