INSULIN PENS:

Insulin pens are devices that are used in injecting insulin in a more convenient and accurate way.It consist of a insulin catridge and a dial to choose the dose of insulin to be injected.there are two types of insulin pens availabel in the market: a) Disposible pen b) Reusable pen. Disposible pen are composed of prefilled catridges that are to be thrown away after a single use, while reusable pens are composed of replacable insulin catridges. The most common way of insulin intake is via injection.But pens are more preffered than syringes due to many reasons.Injections are more painful.Apart of some drawbacks such as being costly,these insulin pens are very much useful.

Benefits:

1. due to its size,it is very easy to handle particularly by aged people and children
2. portable
3. reduce the risk of fear
4. doses can be easily adjusted(more accurate dose)

Doctors prescribe insulin pens for the people with dexterity problems and also those who have reduced vision. Typically a prefilled insulin pen contains about 3ml of insulin (300 units, 100units/ml).
