An ethical dilemma means a decision-making situation between two choices that neither of them will solve the problem in an ethical way. In this case, if Randcom finally decides to focus on their strategic investments for strengthening the cyber-presence and increasing the accessibility and affordability of their train services to more customers on the first priority, the vulnerable cybersecurity services could be an easy target for hackers to filch customers’ personal information. However, the significance of public accessibility cannot be omitted. Greater public access brings lots of convenience to customers as they can book e-tickets via smartphones everywhere. When more people choose train service as an ecological alternative to automobile, the environment will become more clean due to less emitting of automobile exhaust. We cannot say the CEO is absolutely unethical. He is doing a great job in making Randcom become more competitive in the short term. However, in the long run, he is leading the company to go astray by overlooking the cybersecurity importance.
