Discuss the appeal process involved in responding to internal and external audits in healthcare facilities.
Your response must be at least 200 words in length.
Ans) An internal audit is an “assessment to determine compliance performed by, or initiated by, the organization or facility itself, to look for improprieties, errors, and other wrongdoing”.
- An internal audit can help a facility prepare for, or even avoid, an external audit. In an internal audit you would, identify the specific elements to the audit, decide the scope of the audit, select the audit team, provide a quiet and secure place that the audit can be performed, specify the length of time during which the audit will occur, and designate the format of the audit report and to whom the report should be given.
- AnAn external audit is “an assessment to determine compliance performed by an authorized agency or organization”. In an external audit, your team would need to, verify who the request came from and that the request is authentic, confirm the names of the staff members that will be included in the audit process, review organizational policies, and identify the different types of record requests, time frames in which you must comply, and the specific people from your facility that is responsible for this activity.
