Expert Solution

Anti-drug advertising campaign is a media campaign which informs people generally the youths about the side effects and demerits of taking drugs. This types of campaigns are very important for building a healthy economy and society.

From a social perspective there are many merits of this anti-drug advertising campaign like-

  • These campaigns informs people about the side effects and demerits of using drugs.
  • They also urge people not to take drugs and hence improve their health.
  • These campaign also promotes others to participate in this campaign and they can help others to quit drugs.
  • The main merit of this campaign is that, though not much but it has decreased the number of people and youths using drugs to some extent.

Though PDFA, (the partnership for a drug free America) which is a non profit organisation especially for running campaigns against teenage drug abuse in the United States is an appropriate organisation for this but, the government should also be involved in this effort as it is also the work or duty of the government to work for the betterment of the people in the country. This drugs are ruining the present as well as futures of not only these youths but the whole country so the government should involve and take strict actions so that the effect of this on society is minimal.
