Here is the network design of a home network -

Some of the problems that a home network might face are -

• The range of network can sometimes fail to reach every corner, and there might be some places where the client machine might not get a full network coverage.
  • One might use a 5GHz wireless router connectivity or a wireless range extender to expand the range of connection
• There might be some issue in communication between the clients attached in the network, a tablet connected to the wifi might be unable to connect to a PC on the router
  • Look for all the connectivity on routers and any kind of connection configuration, firewalls, if the client could ping each other properly, look for any loop holes in the connection
• Clients systems are unable to access the internet or ISP related functionalities
  • Check the firewall, router configuration
• Some new devices are unable to join the network
  • Check if the router is able to connect to the machine if they could ping each other or not, check for any closed ports and internal firewalls
• Clients connected to the network is not secured
  • Make sure the wireless connectivity is secured via WPA-2 and regularly check for the ports and policies updated on the firewall
