It is a bad, wrong or injudicious treatment of a patient professionally it results in injury, unnecessary suffering and death to a patient.
So allied health malpractice or negligence Case study means the study of the case regarding who undergone malpractice or negligence.
Here we will see the four D' s like
* duty
* Dereliction ( deviations from the standards of care)
* damages
* direct cause
So these all the three should be maintained welland good. And assess the risky areas, like damages and direct cause of death ect.
We need to see what went to wrong like
* whether the duty of the staff does not perform well.
* whether the standards of care not performing by staff.
* any injury happened to the clients.
* any direct cause of death is due to malpractice.
These are all the things assess to know what and where went wrong to identify.
Quality improvement steps :
* plan : to improve quality of care we need to plan first, what we have to do.
Formulate short and long term goals or strategies or objectives.
* do : what ever the plans formulated implement according to standards or by following rules and regulations of the organization or hospital.
* check : analyse the work whether our goals met or not.
Patient satisfaction and employee satisfaction is important.
* act : if not met the goals replan the activities and some more effectively.
* follow strict rules.
* follow policies and procedures.
These are the steps to follow to improvement of quality.
We can do differently by performance evaluations and by doing audits we can improve the quality of care and by doing sudden visits we can meet our goals by creating some allert ness among staff.
