1. Strong magnetic field is not harmful but if patient is having any implant then there are chances of malfunction of the implant and distortion of the images...So in these patients metal artifact reduction imaging is done so that image is not distorted..
2. Most important is ask the patient that is he having any other metal implants in his body as some them are contraindicated for mri scan like 1. Cochelar implant. 2. Pacemakers etc...
3. Ask him that is he on any drug medication or any allergies to contrast used before..
4. Explain him the whole procedure how it is done.. and ask him that is he suffering from claustrophobia... Because as mri is done in a closed space... And proper guidance is given.
5. History of any renal problem or Diabetes..
6. Minimum 6 weeks of gap should be there from day of surgery to the day of MRI scan...
