1. Recognise the manipulatige behaviour. Rationale is to provide treatment and understand tha rationale behind his behaviour
2. Decrease feeling of insecurity . Rationale is that it will help regain patient confidence
3. Set limits on manipulate behaviour and consequences of violation should be should be explained. Rational is that consequence when. Administered will help reduce manipulative behaviour
4. Ignore attempt by patient to bargain . Rationale is that lack of feedback reduce these behaviours
5. Give positive reinforcement for non manipulative behaviour , rationale is to enhance self esteem
6. Discuss consequence of patients behaviour and how attempts are made to attribute them to others ,rationale is patient must accept responsibility for own behaviour before adaptive changes can occur
