ANSWER

INTRODUCTION :- Parenting is one of the biggest responsibilty assigned to a person.Mother and father both are confined to some specific roles which they fulfill so that they could rear their child in appropriate manner. In earlier times, these roles are prominently described on the basis of particular gender, but as the time is passing, with the new thoughts and perceptions, mother and father merge up their work so that they could proovide their child with the suitable upbringing.

HOW DO MOTHER'S AND FATHER'S ROLE DIFFER FROM THOSE IDEALIZED BY THE MASS MEDIA?

Mass media is one of the most prominent part of everyone's life nowadays. The ideas or the thoughts they display through such media, somehow create a huge impact on the life of the people seeing it.Sometimes these media idealize the specific role,as such of mother and father, even though they might differ from it in the real life. The difference in their role from those idealized by media can be seen as follows :-

ROLE OF MOTHER

Mass media still idealizes the concept of mother as one such person, whose role only revlove around their family, and their happiness. They usually forgets to show mother as an independent person, who possess their own ideas, thoughts dreams, and they work on achieveing it.But on the contrary,in real life, the mother's with the growth and advancement in the living style, tend to focus on themselves as much as they provide their attention towards their family. They tend to manage their own career, life along with taking care of family. Thus in this way,the role of mother differs from those idealizes by mass media.

Moreover,Mass media yet completely idealizes mother as one such person who is always giving, caring, selfless, and most important does not possess any sort of shortcoming or the flaw, which is quite not possible, considering the real life aspect. It is so because, there is no any person who is completely perfect,we all have our own negative aspects, our weakness, and this makes us more real and human. When the mass media, displays the mother as one such person without any imperfect aspect, they are basically creating one such idea of an individual which is completely opposite of the real life scenario, because, even though in reality, the mothers are the most caring and selfless, yet they are even human, and they do possess their own  imperfect attribute and have weakness which makes them as normal as other individual, and in this way it makes mother role differ from those idealize by mass media.

ROLE OF FATHER

Mass media has played an important role in developing the sense among people that father's generally more inclined towards their own work, and in a way they tend to neglect their own family. This is one such way, which always presented the father in the wrong light. But considering the reality, this scenario is hardly seen, because, even though father work prominently,to provide their family a better life, yet this does nott mean that they neglect their own loved ones during such time. So,it clearly provide the idea, that role of father is entirely different from those idealizes by mass media.
