describe three spectroscopy to characterize nanomaterials ( including the method, basic principle, image) less than 300 words
Nanomaterials characterization can be different spectroscopic techniques like
UV-Visible spectrophotometry,
Fourier transformer Infrared spectroscopy,
Raman spectroscopy,
X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, e.t.c
Principle involved in UV-Spectrophotometry: when the Ultra violet light (400-200 nm) is contact with the compounds, the chromophores or functional groups will absorb the light of specific wave length. The absorbed light will provide the energy for the electrons to excite from low energy state to high energy state (electron transition). The wave length or the energy of the UV light is characteristic to each and every compound.
Principle involved in FTIR: When the Molecules subjected to Infra red radiation (4000 to 400 cm-1) absorbs the characteristic wavlength or wave number of Infra red radiation. molecules are attached with bonds, these bonds has the vibrartion with vibrational energy. and frequency, when this frequency is equal to the frequency of IR light the molecule absorb the IR light and changes the molecular vibration. the energy of IR light for change in molecular vibration in a molecule is characteristic.
Raman Spectroscopy: the principle involved in raman spectroscopy is based on scattering of IR light (mid IR) when it interacts with the sample molecules.
