Major health care issue of state of new Jersey

1)Access to personal doctor - it is to increase adult with personal doctor or health care provider.

Baseline(2011)-83%

Target(2020)- 90%

Target not met. Trend is little or not changed.

2) childhood immunization-Increase the percentage of children aged 19 to 35 months who receive the recommended doses of DTaP, polio, MMR, Hib, hepatitis B, varicella and pneumococcal conjugate vaccine.

Baseline(2010)-51%

Target(2020) - 80%

Target is not met but trend is improving.

3) obesity in adults-Prevent an increase in the proportion of the adult population (aged 20+ years) that is obese.

Baseline (2011)-23%

Target(2020)-23%

Target not met ,also trend is getting worse.

These three are the major obstacles for health care facility in new Jersey.

To improve these

  • Getting personal doctor for every adult , firstly people should be educated about having regular health check ups and benefits of having a personal doctor, that has all your health records personally. Also government health insurance policy can be changed accordingly to suit these goal.
  • To increase immunization coverage government has to take steps to make aware people of potential risk of not getting vaccinized. Also making it easily available for the residents or door to door facility for some essential vaccine can be helpful in achieving these target.
  • To decrease obesity, awareness is most important. To make them realise to potential risk of obesity. Also telling them what is healthy to eat and what is not. Also giving them professional help who are at risk of morbid obesity. Obesity cure is by self realisation of its harm. So doctors or health care professional can play a role in helping it.

If you are a health care professional in new Jersey, you can spread awareness about all these and also awareness about from where to get help in your neighborhood. These small step can make a huge difference in achieving the targets of new Jersey. If all health care workers voluntarily do these job in their neighborhood burden will surely decrease. Failure of health care is mostly due to less awareness so awareness is most important. Than having knowledge about where to get help is important. Than improvement in health facilities is important in that order.
