Write ONE proposal for behavior change. This could be a behavior change for yourself or someone else (friend, family member, etc.). The behavior change program should incorporate and specify at least two basic principles of behavior (e.g., reinforcement, punishment, stimulus control, prompting, etc). You may elect to increase/decrease the frequency of an existing behavior, establish a new behavior, or some combination. It will also be important to incorporate examples when designing your behavior change program (I.e., describe the experimental design you would use to test if your treatment were responsible for changes). Proposals should be 2-3 pages, typed and double spaced. The proposal should include an introduction describing the behavior, the person involved and a rationale for changing the behavior, response definitions, response measurement, and the behavior change strategies that would be used.
BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION TECHNIQUES BY A TEACHER TO BRING CHANGES IN STUDENTS BEHAVIOUR
INTRODUCTION: If we want to bring a desirable behaviour within students we need a planned attempt. Sometimes to bring changes in behaviour we need repetitive acts.,like famous Psychologist Ivan Pavlov said that if we want to have a change in behaviour we need to use the process of conditioning. Again B.F. Skinner has given importance to the concept of reinforcement and punishment. If a class teacher uses positive or negative reinforcement then it will indirectly affect other class members. So we can say teacher's role is highly correlated with managerial success. So to bring desirable changes in behaviou we need appropriate techniques which are cited below.
SAMPLE: Here I have selected 6th grade sudents of a school. To bring desirable changes in behaviour. Teacher asks them to complete their assignment before they plays the game of their choices. But some students didnot abided teacher's instruction.
TECHNIQUES USED: To change the existing behaviour teacher uses some techiques like principle of REINFORCEMENT. Teacher used positive reinforcer like chocolate. Students who have completed their assignment they were given chocolates and it indirectly affected the other classmates. The second priinciple is STIMULUS CONTROL i.e., based on the presence of stimulus the behaviour of an individual changes. I we use the same example then we can notice that after completing their assignment students were engaged in their choiceful acts or game like pushing or heating each other, sitting on each other,s lap as their part of game or enjoyment, but infront of their teacher they starts playing some other soothing games in fear of teacher .So the students behaviour here changesin front of stimulus that is controlling their responses.
In conclusion we can say that behaviour changes due to the introduction of new principle or techniques i.e, principle of reinforcement and stimulus control, Responses are the acts or action of an individual within we elicit to bring change behaviour. If we check the response measurement we can see that the frequency of acting on the unchanged responses have decreased due to the introduction of behavioural techniques and we finf desirable behaviour in students.
