A. Principles of asepsis and environmental controls:-

1. Regular washing of hands by the health personnel.

2. Use of clean and sterile gloves while dealing with contamination.

3. Use of clean or sterile equipment between patients.

4. Proper disposal of contaminated items.

5. Storage equipment must be proper.

6. Following protocols for regular equipment cleaning.

7. Soiled items must be handled properly.

8. scheduled and regular disinfection of the hospital surfaces.

9. Unnecessary traffic must not happen.

10. Proper isolation of the patient with a known communicable disease condition.

B. Principles of surgical asepsis:-

1. Sterile items must be used within the sterile field.

2. The scrubber personnel must be gloved and gowned.

3. The items that will be used in the sterile field must be sterile.

4. Sterile personnel must be in the sterile field.

5. Use the sterile drapes to create a sterile field.

6. While introducing items that will be opened and dispensed to the sterile field, we should maintain sterility.

7. Maintain and monitor the sterile field constantly.

8. A surgical staff should be there to assess the breaking in the sterility techniques and he/she will tell the remedy according to the situation.
