What is a Progressive Movement in relation to Public Administration?

The progressive movement had great impact on the us public administration. Group of people called progressives were concerned about the immigration changes, governmental corruption, urbanisation etc and hence proposed certain solutions for the same . These solutions included the professional development of public agencies so as to keep a check on government. This was done so that the government can be more efficiently working. The principles if democracy and reform elections, referandums etc were also introduced so that the power shifts to the cotizens and the comkon people become more aware of their rights and hence become more powerful. The major goal if the movement was to give the difference between administration and politics. This was fulfilled as the administration was handled by the public and politics by the government. Although the politics was handled by the government but it was influenced by the administrators which was the public. A description and proposal was maintained by the givernment for policies as that was there responsibility but the execution and changes in the same were done by administrators. Hence the legislation work was done by the givernment but the administrative details and execution was done by public administrators after this movement. Hence progressive movement is the movement which actually developed public administration as a profession in us
