Is it typically time consuming to convert a firm to practices that are in full Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) compliance?

Any business organization which follows CSR in its daily and routine operations will never feel undertaking such practices which are in compliance with CSR as time consuming because the working environment of organization would have already adjusted , accomodated and incorporated the policies, work methods , techniques and put a supportive corporate culture at place which would be in accordance to CSR norms. CSR activities require business to incorporate activities that are least harmful to any party it directly or indirectly influences. However it can prove time consuming for businesses who do not incorporate CSR as their routine activity or policy and see it as an extra baggage adding to their business costs.

Therefore a business organization which might be operating under a particular working method or technique which is not in compliance with CSR norms will require investing time and efforts to change or replace that specific activity with a new and less damaging to make it comply the CSR norms.

Literally speaking CSR does involve considerable amount of time , as consumed in taking decisions, formulating strategies and incorporating changes in accordance with the CSR framework. But that is what business is supposed to do otherwise also and doesn't need to look at undertaking decisions after putting social and environmental concerns as a time consuming activity.

For instance, the decision of Volkswagen to still retain the design of cars even knowing that it emitted carbon above the environmental regulation level thus proving harmful and contaminating aur,,,,, was retained based on cost benefit analysis performed by company which reflected that redesigning will involve a huge amount of time, cost and energy in renovating the design.

Therefore it is a truth that CSR activities are time consuming but business as a responsible and accountable body is supposed to act in that way and instill these measures as routine and responsibility does not have to be time consuming.
