Homework, while not necessarily an ethical topic, is a topic of many opinions. Do you believe the homework you have been assigned in your school years was helpful or harmful to your progress and foundation today? Explain thoroughly with examples.
The main purpose of homework, apart from the practice of the subject, is to inculcate a habit of punctuality and discipline in students. They remind the student to dedicate their work( those days, academics) even during offschool periods. Homeworks also do ensure that the parents get at least a quick glimpse of the academic progress of students. However, homework turn out to be useless, when they are given in unmanageable quantities to students, making them slaves of the stringent, overburdening academic system. They also turn out to be in vain when it is not supplemented with an adequate knowledge base. Taking this in point of view, we can form the following postulates:
1. Homeworks have always helped in building discipline and consistency in my life, which I have naturally followed in my future discourse too, and thus it has helped me to progress.
2. It has awakened the curiosity in me to expand my knowledge by applying it even in those circumstances in which it is not uncompromising.
Eg1: Before delivering any speech or holding any lectures, I come completely prepared. It has helped me to deliver my speeches better, and thus my goodwill has soared up.
Eg2: Such an attitude has helped me evade most of the problems of the dynamic nature of the economy, or the society in general.
Thus, there is no doubt that it has contributed to the personality and overall working progress of mine. However, it has instilled an unwanted fear in my mind against being unprepared and has cautioned me about the egregious aftereffects of being carefree. Thus, we can conclude that homework delivery has helped me in molding a progressive future , except a slight negative trace on my personal independence.
