Do you believe that there are too many lawsuits in the United States? If so, do you place more blame for the problem on lawyers or on individuals who go to court? Is there anything that would help the problem? What, if any, are the positive outcomes of lawsuits?

Yes , I believe that there are too many lawsuits in the United States .The primary reason that the US has so many lawsuits is that it is a permissive and open claim jurisdiction. So long as you can assert a set of facts that support a claim of damages, your matter can make it into the courts.
There is no list of claims that are permitted or not, there is no
canonical definition of what are cognizable damages and what are
not, and there is no requirement other than assertion of facts to
get past a motion to dismiss.
If you have (1) standing, (2) jurisdiction, (3) facts, and (4)
damages, your claim will proceed. And that, my friends, is about as
low a bar for civil claims as there can possibly be
A healthy democracy always provides the opportunity to its citizen with a right to the fair and lawful justice system where anyone can approach the judiciary for free and fair justice and resolution of various disputes.
Thus if we look at the present judiciary system of USA, there is
an adequate number of cases in the legal proceedings.
In fact, this is a good sign that the common public has the faith
in the judiciary of the country and they approach the courts for
the resolution of the different conflicting situation.
This scenario shows the effectiveness and trust on the legal system
of USA.However there is some overburden on these courts as they are
filled with huge cases and in most of the cases, the timely hearing
many not be possible.
But again one cannot blame either common public or the lawyers for
this. The country has to develop its legal infrastructure by
appointing more judges and facilitating the legal helps in local
areas.
In fact, there must be some attempts from the government so that
people can approach various agencies to resolve the issue with the
help of mediation rather than approaching the courts directly.
