There are 10 vital steps in staffing process in an organization. I will try to explain it through below chart & then will explain each step thoroughly..

1.Manpower planning:

This is very essential part of hiring process where organization need to build and evaluate their existing manpower force and require talents to add extra manpower or else to accommodate new necessitate of an organization.

2.Recruitment:

Recruitment is a process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization. It stands for searching of all accessible sources from where right and potential candidate will be preferred.   

3.Selection:

A well–planned selection procedure is of utmost importance. This process is to determine whether a candidate is suitable for employment in the organization or not. Therefore, the main aim of selection process is selecting the right candidates to fill up various positions in the organization.

4.Placement:

Placement means placing the person on the job for which he is selected. It includes introducing the employee to his\her job.

5.Training:

After selection of an employee, the significant part is to train them about organization goal and culture and also to mold them with various organizational needs and developments.

6.Development:

Opportunities for upcoming development and promotion will make them engage in their work which in return gives best productivity from employees. Therefore plenty opportunities of development and promotions will encourage them to target growth oriented path in an organization.

7.Promotions:

A growth oriented position will always encourage employee to obtain increasing rank, status and responsibilities. This is a step which plays a vital role for an existing and new employee to deliver optimum efficiency throughout their tenure in an organization.     

8.Transfer:

Transfer means movement of an employee. It consists two part. One is location transfer to fill up urgent position and another is from one job to another and this transfer will be without increment in pay, status or responsibilities. Therefore this process of staffing needs to evaluated on regular intervals.

9.Appraisal:

Appraisal is assessment of an employee towards target or goals v/s achievements throughout year. This also includes his aptitudes and other qualities necessary for performing the job assigned to him.

10.Final Remuneration:

This is last process which is very crucial as it is determining remuneration which is most difficult functions of an organization against employee's output. There is no definite means to determine correct wages.
