What is your ethical stance on the known Concussions caused by contact sports and the damage it causes? Do you believe the sport is worth the risk? Do you believe parents and players fully understand the risks involved?
The players, management and doctors have an ethical obligance towards concussion injuries.
I have always believed that sports form a big part of life and thus you cannot avoid them. Injuries are part and parcel of almost all the sports.
Ethically what we can do is to take care whether proper safety equipments are provided to the sportsman or not. Also to make sure that a particular sportsman doesn't try to injure others intentionally to get edge in the game.
Also, if a concussion injury occurs it's very important to avoid the game and mental workload for a specific time period to avoid harsh results.
2. Risk is part and parcel of almost everything that we perform in life. There are a lot of positives of sports hence they are worth the risk.
However, after getting injured once you should force the comeback very soon.
3. I personally believe that players do understand the risks involved. However, parents might not be fully aware about such possible outcomes which they should be aware of.
