What part of the replicating DNA is in contact with the helicase? Explain why your answer makes sense (or not).
BACKGROUND
Helicase is an enzyme which is used for the unwind of DNA molecule which means that it unzip the DNA that point is called origin where synthesis is initiated which means that Helicase enzyme allow to synthesize new strand . Helicase unzip the DNA to forms a structure called replication fork.
The unwind of DNA which means two strand is saprated from each other, the two strand is bind with each other by Hydrogen bond. Hydrogen bond is the bond between purine and pyramidine which is nitrogen bases in DNA.
EXPLINATION
In between Adenine and Thymine there is double hydrogen bond and between Guanine and cytosine is triple hydrogen bond present. Here we can says that one bond is more stronger than other i.e bond between Guanine and cytosirn hence it require more enery to break the bond.In other hand the bond betwen Adenine and Thymine is weaker hence it require less energy therefore the enzyme Helicase unwind the DNA on that point where Adenine and Thymine nitrogen base is present and process of replication of DNA is initiated...
