The performance indicators in case of a health facility will be judged not just by the profits of the health centres but also in terms of decline in patient mortality rate and increase in the probability of patient satisfaction from the service at the health facility. The focus should be on decreasing the hospital costs by using cost effective modern techniques in treatment of the patients rather than increasing hospital revenues by imposing very high prices to the patients that is, overcharging. It should be made sure that all the doctors and nursing staff are competent and possess the necessary qualifications. Patient satisfaction can be improved by improving the management of the health facility so as to facilitate better performance by the doctors and avoiding negligence on part of them. The doctors can be provided performance based pay in order to increase their efficiency. These factors are to be taken into account while deciding on a judicious policy for the health facility. Business analysis is important for improving the performance of the health facility since it identifies the problematic areas in the hospital management and provides viable solutions to rectify them. It enables the hospital management to take into account both the hospital profits as the well as the quality of services while creating its policies.
