In what situations do I seek to confirm my biases rather than control them? In what situations do I interpret evidence in a way that flatters my bias?
Ans-
1)Bias means attitude toward the patient and Patient family.patient and their families may feel that nurses should not respect their choice.confirmation bias means if we think that hospital should Increased the outcome and payment bills and when we observe this or any person should told about this we confirm this bias.
People tend to seek out and interpret information in a way that confirms their preexisting beliefs. In health care this can lead to harmfuloutcomes. Antecedent thoughts about a patient's condition can lead to misdiagnosis and potentially incorrect treatment approaches.
Patient have confirmation bia about the nurses that should not behave politely,in this case if any nurse should talk him with politely they try to control such type of bias but if again after shift change and other nurse came at duety was strict and behave roughly so in this type of situation Patient confirm their bais rather than control.
2)flatter bias means think something good about something although other people are not think the same.sometime we think that hospital staff is helpful and behave with us sincerely.nurses should care for the Patient and behave politely with the patient family members.
but when someone says the do not cooperating and they Increased the bill payments we should believe on this.other people doesn't think the same.in this cases we should go with the others thinking.and believe on other rather than our own thinking.
