Quality is a very important factor when it comes to every project. Without good quality, the business of any product won't cover further milestones in business.Hence ensuring the quality in project is very crucial for every enterprise.

For this, every firm must implement two concepts into the project management namely Quality assurance (QA) and Quality control(QC). Quality assurance is the strategy by which the quality standard of the entire process related to the project is analyzed for ensuring quality and hence prevent defects. While quality control is the strategy wherein the product itself as a whole is analyzed for quality standards and the defects if any, are rectified. In simpler words, we can say that quality control is the tool used in quality assurance at every stage of production to ensure the product quality. By these two concepts, the entire quality attribute is being ensured in an overall scale.

Activities involved in Quality Assurance are:

• Frequent quality audits
• Selection of techniques and tools for various process
• Analyzing each stage of process
• quality standards development

Activities involved in Quality Control are:

• Thorough check-ups
• Simple observation during walkthrough
• Sudden quality inspection
• Standard testings on the product(peer review or by software testings)

Along with the quality assurance and control, there should also be an effective plan developed for improving the weaker areas that have been found out during the analysis. These quality improvement plans would ensure the overall quality standard of the project.

One of the examples is that of the tea powder manufacturers where the quality assurance strategy is applied to check the standard of each process like the withering and bruising of tea leaves (to check whether the tea leaves are properly crushed), oxidizing process, fixation process(where the temperature is checked for denaturing the enzymes) and drying process. Here the quality control is applied by using various tests like bacteria detection testing, seal testing, observational testing, weighing, oxygen level testing, etc

By all these strategies, a project's quality can be ensured and hence can continue with further process of the business.
