122-A galvanometer shows a deflection of 36 degrees for a current of 3,6mA when a rectangular coil of area 30cm x 30cm with 100 turns of wire is suspended with the value of B=4x10-2 , find the torsional constant of the suspension wire

122B-A delta network has the following values RAB =120ohms, RBC=150ohms, RCA=200ohms

calculate the values of the equivalent star network

Solutions

Expert Solution

Solution:

122-A:

Torsional constant = 3.6x10-5 Nm/degree --- (Unit is Newton-meter/degree)

(If the answer is required in Nm/radian, the result will be 2.063x10-3 Nm/rad.)

122-B:

Resistance of equivalent star network:

RA = 51.064 Ohms

RB = 38.298 Ohms

RC = 63.83 Ohms

Please refer the attached image files (2 pages) for the calculation details and relevant diagrams.

The diagram below shows a "galvanometer", which can be used as a simple ammeter. Its various pieces are: The coil: A circular coil of total resistance 1 Ω is made from 2000 turns, each approximately of radius r = 50 mm. This coil (in red) is wound around a spherical support (gray) which has an attached needle. All of these pieces stay fixed relative to each other. The spring: The coil/support/needle system is mounted on an axle which can swivel,...
