I need to find the total and net ionic equations for the following reactions:
Thank you so extremely much in advance.
HCl (aq) + Al (s)
Fe(s) + HCl (aq)
Mg(s) + HCl (aq)
Zn(s) + HCl (aq)
Fe (s) + H2SO4 (aq)
Mg (s) + H2SO4 (aq)
Zn(s) + H2SO4 (aq)
Copper II Nitrate (aq) + Zinc(s)
1) First let us write the balanced equation
2Al (s) + 6HCl (aq) ----> 3H2(g) + 2 AlCl3(aq)
If we are separated all campounds into ions then that will be the ionic equation
2Al (s) + 6H+ + 6Cl- (aq) ----> 3H2(g) + 2 Al3+ + 6Cl-(aq)
If cancelled Cl-, which is both sides, we will get net ionic equation
2Al (s) + 6H+ (aq) ----> 3H2(g) + 2 Al3+(aq)
Similarly if workedout for other equations we will get as below
2) Fe(s) + 2HCl (aq) ----> FeCl2(aq) + H2(g) ....Balanced equation
Fe(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Fe2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
3) Mg(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Mg2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
4) Zn(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Zn2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
5) Fe(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Fe2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
6) Mg(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Mg2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
7) Zn(s) + 2H+ (aq) ----> Zn2+(aq) + H2(g).....Net ionic equation
8) Zn(s) + Cu2+ (aq) ----> Zn2+(aq) + Cu(s).....Net ionic equation
