The diagnosis of "Opoid Abuser versus "Substance Use Disorder" in the mental health perspective has been always a topic of a shift towards the delivery of treatment services. As substance use disorder is defined as a medical illness characterized by clinically significant impairments in health, social function, and voluntary control over substance use. As it has been traditionally seen as a criminal or social problem, the treatment had access to only a less range of treatment was available. It has been seen that nurses lack knowledge in caring of these clients which also contributes their negative feelings like anxiety, powerlessness, distrust, frustration which have an effect on caring of these vary clients.
Also, the Negative attitudes by caregivers toward persons with addiction may also affect a caregiver's willingness to assess patients for substance problems, that affects caring relationships with persons suffering from addictive diseases, and it exacerbate avoidance of health care by those with substance problems.
Motivational interviewing & through therapeutic communication with a trained counselor, the client is guided and counseled & the focus is not on convincing the person to follow a particular course, but it is to examine the consequences of current behaviors and potential behavior changes
But in recent health care reform laws, effective integration of prevention, education, therapeutic attitude building or workplace education on illicit drug use was useful only when combined with role support. As a result, it is improving the therapeutic attitudes to reduce patient stigmatization.
