When an individual losses physiological functions gradually the psychological trauma may alter their entire functioning. It plays a vital role during end of life as the physiological process of appetite decreases and makes them to avoid it. This differs in each culture and society. Almost all culture have a moral value to support their nutrition but at the same time they give them the liberty and respect to refuse it .

One of the relevant background is to support the patient with artificial nutrition during the end of life to support nutrition and hydration.

This position statement can impact the health disparities in a country by ensuring which patient has to be provided nutrition and hydration at the end of life .The expenses for it can cause a disparities in the healthcare services
