Multiple sclerosis affect on nervoussystem:

The central nervous system (CNS) can contain the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve. These all are highly affected multiple sclerosis. The normal function of the neuron was to send a signals to the entire body with high accurate speed and it is mainly happens due to the presence of the fatty coating surrounds called myelin sheath. This myelin insulates the impulses and allows the nerve signals to reach their destination.The immunesystem is designed to fight off disease from viruses,bacteriaor other agent and does so by distinguishing these things from healthy tissues.But in multiple sclerosis immune system ends up by attacking the myelin so it is classified as autoimmune disorder.So Tcells releaases chemicals called cytokines.Cytokines promote the degradation of the blood brain barrier.So this barrier becomes permeable to Tcells and these will degrade the myelin.When myelin gets degraded oligodendrocytes will begin the process of remyelination.But as the time goes on remelination actually becomes less effective.Remyelination process is overpowered by the immune system.This process of de myelination can lead to build above scar tissue.The CNS then becomes unable to send and recieve the signals properly.Because of the bearing,locations and nature of de-myelination the symptoms of MS are incredibly diverse.They can range from muscle weakness,to decreased coordination,fatigue,vision problems,numbness even paralysis.
