It acts as a medium   to promote product and approach to the customers, people or society. It has been popular over several decades and it is the best way to reach each and every person from different corners of the world. But as we know everything has its own advantages and disadvantages so as advertisement though it is the best way to grab the market but sometimes it tends to create problems in society. Now we will try to highlight one such advertisement which may affect the morality of a person to some extent and which is purely based on readers view.

SEXUAL CONTENT IN ADVERTISEMENT

Every media customer is alert to 'sex in advertising. Its extensive use and misuse are constantly before us, and naturally prompt strong criticism. Sexual content has been used over several years and the reason for it is- it works. As sexual advertisement are sexy in nature and it is remembered more often than other advertisement. But the question arises is how ethical is it to use sexual content in advertisements? Using of sex appeal is a good way to target market division or segment but not all. Actually sex does not help in sells but sexiness does. There are several different parameters as to what is being categorized as sex appeal that is - physical features of models, behaviour/movement, intimacy between models, contextual features such as camera effects. Now we will discuss regarding its problems and drawbacks.

PROBLEMS OF SEXTUAL CONTENT

Advertisement are read by different age groups from children to adults as it’s comes in newspaper, magazines and different other contents. So sexual advertisement read by children are more impactful than other advertisement, so they should avoid seeing those advertisements until a certain age where he or she can understand the things by possessing a proper knowledge about it. Sexual contents are not bad and it is never too late or too early to know anything so there is no harm for children to know about advertisement which is related to intimacy or physical features exposed but not before a certain age. As our society is still not advanced and advertisement containing sexual things is not taken in a rightful way, people are having lust about sexual things which arouses sexual violence and rapes like cases and makes our society vulnerable to those creepy humans, advertisement are only meant for selling products it does not mean to harm or change the mentality of any person but sometimes it may harm the society. So the best way to avoid this kind of things is stop showing over exposed models and sexual content should be placed as it meant to be.
