Was the federal government effective in the last 25 years of the 19th century? Show what they did right and what they did wrong. The federal government is the government in Washington -- the President, Senate, House of Representatives, and Supreme Court.

• There were no any federal government regulatory agencies until the end of 19the century in US.
• There were no laws relating to taxation, antitrust, etc.
• There was no central bank or welfare state.
• Until the late 19thing century, federal government of US was very much inactive in the area of welfare.
• This happened mostly because the idea of national problem solving was diapproved by the people of US.
• The federal government in 19the century was although involved in welfare activities for the poor but these activities were not noteworthy.

• Only in certain circumstances the relief was peovided directly.
• The federal government was of the ideology the problems should be addreses in ad hoc way rather than long range solutions.
• But this lead to legal arguments between the political parties.
• US government favoured dictatorship with military and economic assistance.
• Us government aslo opposes nationalist movements and social reforms in foreign countries.
• The government also ignored democracy and human rights.
• US federal government favoured national sovereignty but it supported internal guerrilla movements and paramilitary organizations, such as the Contras in Nicaragua.
