Drawing upon your newly gained knowledge of the current state of citizens’ privacy, civil liberties, and civil rights in the Information Age, where do you see the state of these issues five years from now?
In the coming five years, there will be more cases of infringement of the citizen's privacy, either using the government channels for the sake of security and safety and or as a result of cyber crimes. Companies will also have cut-throat competition to gain advantage even if they compromise upon the privacy of the customers or common people. In the wake of it, there will be many interest groups, lawmakers and rights groups, who will work to bring new set of reforms to improve the level of civil liberties and civil rights of the people. It will not only be confined to certain rights given by the amendments, rather new additions to restrict the marketing tactics of the companies will be brought for consideration. Besides, information age will work as a tool to make people aware about it, connect with each other and raise voice of concerns regarding the privacy, civil rights and liberties.
