Solutions

Expert Solution

Matrix Diagram – This tool represents many to many relationships of varying strength. This helps in identification of relationships between varying strength.

Histogram – It is a graphical representation of data with the help of varying height bars. The taller the height of the bar the more data falls in that range as these bars represents group or ranges. It is a graph which display the shape as well as spread of continuous sample data.

Affinity Diagram – This tool represents the large amount of data that are in form of ideas, opinions issues, problems etc. with the help of natural relationships. It actually gathers the data and then organises it in groups based on their natural relationships. This is helpful in language based data.

Check Sheets- The collection of real time data from where it is generated in Form (Documents) is known as Check sheet. Both the type of data is collected here i.e. quantitative or qualitative.

Process Map- The process map depicts the flow of work of any project or system. It is a tool used in planning and management so called planning and management tool. In this, set of tasks are shown in sequence order with a direction of flow.

1. Hence, the correct answer is (B) i.e. Histogram. It is a tool which is used to get the shape of the distribution.

2. As per the definition of Affinity Diagram it is used to organise ideas. Hence, correct option is (C) i.e. Affinity Diagram.

3. Random Variation is centred around the mean. It occurs with consistent amount of dispersion. If the variation is random, then it is controlled otherwise it is not random. When the random variation decreases, the precision increases. Hence the option B is correct.

4. An R chart is a control chat. This chart monitors variability of the process at regular intervals of small subgroups of the process. Hence, it measures the dispersion of process.

Standard Deviation measured the data dispersed from mean. Range also measures the variability of data.

Hence, option (B) is correct i.e. Dispersion of Process.
