Parental monitoring refers to technological methods which help in monitoring the online presence of a ward by their guardians. It is an advantage when it comes to the security of the child and similarly adolescents are more likely to feel comfortable disclosing their information to their parents when it comes to their security and where about. Sometimes children do not want parents to have the knowledge about their particular location and whereabouts because they feel that this is infringement of their privacy but in conditions, for example a child finds himself or herself in trouble, they should be able to inform their parents about their location in just a tap which is possible with the current technology. There are considerable differences when we compared today and a few years back on how parents engaged in monitoring behaviour of their adolescence kids, all they could really up on was information about the addresses and phone numbers of friends and their families which while restricting the access of parents to to their children's location also made it insecure for the children if they find themselves in unfavourable conditions.
