List the modifications of the intestinal wall that increase surface area. How is chronic heartburn associated with esophageal cancer? A baby is born with esophageal atresia, an incomplete connection between the esophagus and the stomach. What will most likely happen to the infant if this defect is not corrected?

Solutions

Expert Solution

The modifications in the intestinal wall to increase the surface area of the intestine are:

* mucosal folds

* micro villi

* Villi

Mucosal folds: Mucosal folds, the inner surface of the small intestine is not flat but is in the form of circular folds,which helps in increasing the surface area, but they are ingested with the help of a mixture, acting as a deflector.

Villi: The villi protruding into the epithelial cells of the mucosa are covered with portico lights and multiple shapes.The entire line of the intestines contain villi that are small enough for the cells in the similar finger like structure. The villi absorb the nutrients from the food that is been ate and the nutrients in the blood.This improves the absorbing surface area.

Microvilli : It is the arrangement of membrane-absorbing epithelial cells and luminal microvilli, and generally in dense microvilli.Microscopic cell bumps that increase surface area for augmentation and diffusion will decrease in volume and increasing surface area and are involved in a wide variety of functions, including secretion, cell adhesion, and mechanotransduction.

ASSOCIATION Of EOSOPHAGIAL CANCER AND CHRONIC HEARTBURN:

The risk of developing cancers among the largest is strongly increased, they are hot with the elderly, adenocarcinoma of the palate. In patients with severe burns at risk of developing esophageal cancer as long-standing, it has a large increase in the problem. The acidity has not been acidic enough for the contents of the stomach, the esophagus. Medically known as gastroesophageal reflux disease, heartburn has received a lot of attention in recent years, the commercial development of new prescription and over-the-counter drugs to alleviate the disease problem. The sensitive part of the stomach acid mucous cells towards the throat, their naked bodies. And this kind of discomfort from this scatters abroad, as with almost the entire abdomen, or less than one might do, bends over the cave. Sometimes it is the disease of the stomach results and acid regurgitation are the conjectural explanations, not because it is a small amount of excess belly power, content, reflux, but effective operation as far as wrong , by the strength of the muscles of the esophagus muscle.

THE PROBLEM Of THE BABY If THE EOSOPHAGEAL ATRESIA IS NOT TREATED:

Esophageal atresia tracheoesophageal fistula often as half of all babies born to care for as many as tracheoesophageal or weak atresia. Without the need for a strong connection, the baby does not receive enough nutrition. They are also more prone to infections like pneumonia in children and conditions like acid reflux.The child born with this disability does not have food in the mouth to the stomach and difficulty breathing.

* chocking

* acid reflex disease

* Breathing difficulty or problem

* Infections like pneumonia

* brassy or honking-type cough

* dysphagia

* recurrent pneumonia

* obstructive and restrictive ventilatory defect and

* airway hyperreactivity.
