calculate the work done when: a) a 55 N force acting at an angle of 28 degrees to the horizontal pushes an object 5m horizontally. b) a spring of spring constant 45n/m is stretched by 32cm.

Solutions

Expert Solution

a) Lets, F=force= 55 N

D= object distance horizontally = 5 m

and    = angle of horizontal pushes = 280

we know the theory of work for horizontal pushes is W,

J

Calculate the work done a 55 N force acting at an angle of 28 degrees to the horizontal pushes an object 5 m horizontally is =242.81 J or 242.81 kg.m2 /s2

b) a spring of spring constant, K = 45 N/m

x=stretched displacement =32 cm

= 0.32 m

we know that the potential energy, equal to the work done to stretch the spring,

So, work done= PE=potential energy

   The work =2.304 J , when a spring of spring constant 45n/m is stretched by 32 cm.
