2. ABO Serologic testing for the antigens on the red blood cells is known as:
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ or _ _ _ _ _ or Cell typing
2. Serological testing for the non-red blood cell stimulated (naturally) occurring ABO antibodies in the patient serum/plasma which are permitted to react with commercial reagent red blood cell suspensions (3-5% for tube and 0.8% for gel) of known A1 antigen red blood cells and B antigen red blood cells.
This is known as: _ _ _ _ _ _ _ or _ _ _ _ typing
2, ABO Serologic testing for the antigens on the red blood cells is known as: FORWARD TYPING OR DIRECT COOMBS TEST OR FRONT TYPING OR Cell typing
The forward typing is done to directly identify the antigens present in the RBC of a person.
2, Serological testing for the non-red blood cell stimulated (naturally) occurring ABO antibodies in the patient serum/plasma which are permitted to react with commercial reagent red blood cell suspensions (3-5% for tube and 0.8% for gel) of known A1 antigen red blood cells and B antigen red blood cells.
This is known as: REVERSE TYPING or PLASMA TYPING OR BACK TYPING OR INDIRECT COOMBS TEST
The reverse typing is done to identify the antibodies A, B or D in the blood.
Both the results of the test are base on agglutination or hemolysis reaction. ACcording the type of agglutination, it is graded as +4,+3,+2,+1 or negative in tube testing. Both the typing techniques should be done before we transfuse blood inorder to determine the compatibility of blood between the donor and recepient. As we know, tarnsfusing incompabitlble blood would be life threatening beacuse our immune system attacks the transfused RBC
