Informative speech outline misconception regarding psychopath and sociopath
With the different stressful situations emerging all over, there has been an increase in the number of mental disorders and their cases. Though, conditions such as depression and anxiety arise as a result of whatever is going around, there are other forms of mental disorders as well whose attribution could be to the personality of a person. These are referred to as personality disorders. The kind we are interested in, more specifically, is the antisocial personality disorder. Both the sociopaths and the psychopaths are aversive to people's feelings. the differences between the two could be understood as follows:
- psychopaths could be understood as the person who would not be having any conscience. His ability to feel empathy would be very close to zero. Whereas, sociopaths are more empathetic as compared to psychopaths. They feel slight bit of remorse.
- psychopaths are extremely intelligent. If need be, they would be following social conventions, so as to blend in. Whereas, sociopaths are the people who have a greater tendency to be acting in a violent manner, without being able to manage their emotions. This happens especially in the case when they would be facing the consequences of whatever they have done.
- psychopaths would be displaying
behaviors that are cold hearted. They have the ability to maintain
and live normal lives so as to cover their criminal intent, whereas
for sociopaths it is not possible to maintain family life or work
life.
- sociopaths might be able to form emotional attachments whereas psychopaths may only do so to fulfil their purpose.
