How are memes like genes? Drawing from Dennett and/or Blackmore, explain the reproductive success of any one religious meme.
A meme could be referred to as an idea or a behaviour that would be spreading from one person to another, or within one culture. These would be acting in the form of a carrying unit which would be transmitted from the mind of one person to another, which are done through speech, writing, rituals or gestures. Meme supporters are often considered analogous to genes as genes would be self replicating or mutating along with responding to selective pressures.
These are referred to as being information that would be copied with some amount of variation as well as selection, in the form of a replicator. An example is of the spread of atheism as well as secular values. Secular memes are in the form of universal suffrage or se-xual equality or human rights would be spread through memes.
Atheism would be an interesting challenge, which is spread through the memes, as there are many predispositions present innate in people. An example has been given to be of Islam where meme trucks thane been used in the pro social religions in the form of threats or beauty tricks.
