Sick Leave: It can be defined as a time off from work that employees can take due to their health issues and that is too without losing pay.
Sick Leave means an absence of employee from work due to illness and it is the number of days in a year for which employer pays employees, for those who are sick.
It is the form of employee benefit which means paid time off for illness or to deal with personal matter. All organisation should have a clear policy regarding sick leave as everyone occasionally need such time off.
A Sick Leave is self explanatory and can be used from common cold to a more serious illness.
Most companies give certain number of days for sick leave.
For Example: In a company holiday calendar an employee can avail 2 sick leave in per month and if employee fails to use these sick leaves then company decide whether to roll them over or not. And in some organisation employee who didnot take available sick leave are rewarded.
